Thursday Treadmill Treats
What is wrong with people today?
I was actually going to write about something else this morning but then something happened to make me write this blog instead.
On the way to the gym at 5:30 am, it’s pouring.
(Yet again..Hello… Florida in the summer!)
I make a run for the gym door when 2 other people are coming in behind me, so me being me, I hold the door open for them and yes, I am getting wet while I am doing this.
They both walk in without even a thank you or a glance in my direction. Hello!! And so me being me, I say in my loud New York voice.
“Your welcome!” And still nothing!! Are you frigging kidding me??
What the hell is wrong with people today? Did we lose all sense of kindness, all sense of courtesy towards another human being? Come on, how much does it take to be nice?
You have your blinker on yet no one will let you in? You let someone ahead of you in the grocery store and no response, you compliment someone and they look at you like your trying to rob them or you want something.
It takes nothing to be nice, it costs you nothing to have human decency yet so many people are caught up in their own stuff, in their own world they forget the world around them.
Don’t get me wrong even so called “Christians” do this, especially in church when they look at you like what are you doing here, sinner
The worst I ever saw a “Christian” do was when the Orlando shootings happened and they actually had the nerve to show up at these people’s funerals with signs saying “This is what happens when your gay” or “You deserved this, Burn in hell”
Where was their love or compassion then? When a mother or father was burying their child… Can you not feel for them at the worst time in their lives? That had to be the worst showing of non human compassion ever and I was ashamed to be identified as Christian, because the God I serve says love one another….he who has no sin cast the first stone…
This is not the Christianity I believe in.
No, we need to change as a world, we need to do more random acts of kindness.
We need to say kind things to one another because you never know what that person is going through. You never know if your kind words, your smile, your encouragement will be the only one they hear that day, that week, that year… you never know…
I write this blog and I post it on 7 different blogging sites and every social media avenue there is because I hope maybe, just maybe, my words will touch someone. Maybe it will give someone hope, maybe it will make someone laugh, maybe it will give them the encouragement to go on one more day.
We are never to busy or preoccupied to be kind, to stop and acknowledge another human being, whether it be the janitor of the school, the mayor, a police officer or a homeless person on the street, they are all human beings that deserve respect.
So today my friends remember your words, your actions can change the world, they can change someone’s life, as I always say when I close this blog every day….Be the change you want to see…
“Be the change you want to see”
“And just when the caterpillar thought his life over…he turned into a beautiful butterfly”
